Disasters can affect anyone, at any time. Staying informed and prepared ensures you and your family are Navy Ready. The Fleet & Family Support Center (FFSC) provides training, resources, and crisis support to help you respond confidently before, during, and after an emergency.

Contact FFSC to request free crisis preparedness information and American Red Cross Prepare for Emergencies materials. Training is available for individuals, families, and commands.

FFSC Support During a Crisis

  • Family Information Call Center (FICC): A 24/7 information and referral line activated during emergencies to support military families.
  • Emergency Family Assistance Center (EFAC): A centralized location offering legal services, resources, and crisis information.
  • Mobile Outreach Teams (MOTs): FFSC staff deploy to affected areas to provide on-site support.
  • Navy Family Accountability & Assessment System (NFAAS): FFSC Case Managers respond to completed assessments and provide case management until all crisis-related needs are resolved.


How You Can Prepare

  • Update important paperwork, personnel records, DEERS, and NFAAS annually.
  • Stay aware of local conditions — small incidents can escalate quickly.

  • Practice emergency drills with your household several times a year.
  • Keep your skills sharp — FFSC offers one-on-one and group disaster preparedness training.
