Career Services & TGPS (China Lake)
Employment Readiness and Transition Assistance programs are geared towards assisting Sailors and family members finding meaning employment. Sailors and their family members can come in and sit with our Work and Family Life Consultant (WLFC) or attend our workshops.
One-on-one assistance or workshops addresses launching a job search, career planning, resume writing, interview techniques, federal employment information, self-assessments, goal setting, and vocational tests.
FFSC workshops include Finding Federal Employment, Winning Interview Techniques, and Resume Writing.
The FFSC Career Centers offer computers, the internet, and job postings for your use.
Transition Goals, Plans, and Success (Transition GPS)
TGPS is for Sailors and family members to be substantially better prepared for civilian life. Service members depart the military “career ready” and with strategies that augment the job search process in today’s market. Information on Veterans Benefits and resources are identified and reviewed.
Transition GPS workshops are required for every service member separating from the military. Transition GPS workshops are scheduled through your Command Career Counselor and your command, orders are required.

Language Interpretation Services
We have staff members fluent in Cantonese and Vietnamese, intermediate in Spanish, and novice in Mandarin to assist non-English speaking family members. Other languages are available through Military One Source.
