Quarterly, MWR prints 4,000 copies of this color, glossy magazine and delivers copies to MWR facilities including the gym, bowling center and golf course, where an average of 26,294 patrons visit monthly. Navy Gateway Inns & Suites' (NGIS) receives 250 copies to maintain a current copy in each of its 101 transient rooms and in the lobby. Each quarter a new copy is mailed to 3,000 Military and DoD civilian personnel and 200 are hand-delivered to residents that live in base housing. Desert Winds is also emailed to 2,000 Military and DoD civilian personnel quarterly and is available online.

GOLF COURSE ADVERTISING
NAWS China Lake Golf Course is an 18-hole, par 72 course on 248 acres. The facility is open to the public and offers a driving range, chipping and putting greens, electric carts with GPS, a Pro Shop with rental clubs and an indoor/outdoor club house grill with breakfast, lunch and twilight menu. On average, 3,267 patrons per month enjoy the base golf course, driving range and the popular indoor/outdoor golf course eatery. There are a variety of options for promoting your brand - GPS, banners, posters, countertop brochure displays, or countertop signs in high traffic areas will catch the eye of your target market.
Tee-box recognition may be purchased for company promotion or may be part of our customized GPS advertising package. GPS ads display when a cart is in play. Because the golfer spends much of the total round time in the cart, a great advertising opportunity is created. A GPS green-side ad is displayed on the full screen along with the yardage to the green until the golfer reaches the next tee box or enters the staging area. A GPS banner ad is shown when the golfer reaches the tee-box and continues to be displayed until 65 yards out from the center of the green of the hole that is being played.

Monthly - This monthly BBQ brings China Lake’s Enlisted Sailors, E1-E8, together for camaraderie and team building while enjoying a good meal on the flight line. Approximately 85 Sailors are expected monthly.

Military Kids Club
January 1-December 31 - A Military Club just for kids! Military students meet monthly to connect with other military students through support groups filled with games, activities and crafts. Supplies and refreshments are provided for each participant. The Military Kids Club serves approximately 400 per year.

Fleet & Family Support Center (FFSC) Military Family Appreciation Days and Awareness Months
FFSC will host appreciation days and cause-awareness months throughout the year to show support for our military families. Expected participation for each event is 100-300.

January 20 - A winter showdown of grit! This event soaks contestants in a timed fitness challenge and obstacle course, culminating in an icy dunk tank experience. This event is expect to attract 50 participants and their families.

February 3 - China Lake’s version of a Woof Walk! Pooches compete in fun events like waggiest tail, longest howl and best sit-stay. This event is expected to attract 150 dog lovers.

Military Saves Week
February 26-March 1 - Event promotes building wealth and eliminating debt by encouraging a healthy dialogue about personal finances with other military families through financial games, activities and snacks. The event is expected to attract 25 military families.

Month of the Military Child
April - The Child and Youth Center hosts a month-long celebration to highlight the military culture and recognize military children for their accomplishments. The events are filled with assemblies, interactive games, family activities and refreshments. Expected participation is 500 children.

April 19 - Attendees gather at the Paradise Community Center for an evening of entertainment and laughs. Comedy Night features professional comedians who have performed around the globe, good food and drinks. Expected attendance is 150.

Dive-in Movie Night

Admiral’s Open Golf Tournament

Spooky Walk & Trunk or Treat Festival
October 26 - This annual Halloween event is always a hit, bringing Sailors and the community together. The Spooky Walk begins at the Oasis Pool, where participants creep along the Sleepy Hollow Maze, staying away from the creepy crawlies, as they make their way to the end of the haunted trail. Spook houses and treats await the brave. Expected participation is 1,400
